Hello, im working on my 69 superbee ive replaced the quarters, the whole trunk pan needs replaced, i was going to buy a full pan the rear tail panel was shot so its gone, so now the back is open for easy trunk pan replace, my question is how much of the pan can i take at one time, if i remove the pan will the body flex, as is the rear tail panel is off and it didnt seem to do any body flex at all im worried what will happen if i remove the trunk pan, any ideas of the best way to replace the whole pan,

You've got nothing to worry about as long as the crossmember that connects the rear rails at the back of the car is still attached, a pic of what you've got going on would be helpful. Also some great threads for reference in the resto forum, Donny, Propwash, Sgt. Paul, Superfreak, myself with the "JUNKYARD DOG" and several others.

thanks for the advice, the problem is the rear cross member just about fell off when the tail panel came out, right now the the trunk pan is still attached to both frame rails maybe i should weld a bar across the rear frame rails first just to hold things together, so i can get the trunk pan out without any body flex, i will try to post some pics later today thanks for the help

make sure you measure the frame rails from the floor up and the car is sitting level before you weld.
