Hi,
The previous owner did not have the cam card. I have the heads off and they are on their way to the machine shop. The Machinist wanted to know what Cam I was running. I wish I would have measured before I took the heads off. I'm new at this. So I call up the guy I purchased the car from and he said that he did not have the cam card but he knew that it was a purple shaft direct connection cam. It has a 484 Lift and a 286 duration. Well I thought that was enough info and he saved the day. Wasn't till I was poking around on the internet till I fond out there is a lot more info that I need on the grind. I found the .484 Purple Cam but the durations is .284. Could the previous owner be wrong in telling me 286 and it's really 284? Could the Cam have 484 lift and 286 durations being a purple cam? This is all new to me. If anyone has any info and I just have to measure my specific cam to make posotive of the grind then so be it but that is what I'm wondering. Or can I go from these numbers and in confidence say that this is my cam and find a part # for it?

The 484/284 is probably what you have of the guy was goin from memory. Your machinist
most likely just needs the lift number to get you the right valve springs. Lots of manufacturers make a 484 lift cam if it's not the Mopar performance one you found.

If you want, the cam lift can be measured with it in the engine, bu you'd need to get a few specialty measuring tools- a dial indicator and magnetic base.

I'd ask your machinist if the lift is all he needs.

That's exactly what he said to me. He said it was so that he could get the right springs. OK, I'm headed over there at lunch today. Hopefully I have enough for him to go off of. Thanks!
