TTI Header Starter wire routing

Ok....I have the 2" tube TTI headers on my Charger and need some different ideas for where to route the wires for starter. I am using a factory harness so I had to route them down between the back two (cylinder 5 & 7) header tubes to reach the starter. They are EXTREMELY close to the header tubes so I put a spark plug boot protector over the wires where they almost touch the header tube. Think this will be OK? They do not burn where they touch the header around my plug boots and this is further down the tube where it should be less temperature wise, so I am hoping it protects the wiring ok. This is what I wrapped them in. Anyone have any other ideas besides creating a custom wiring harness and going around the back of tubes and around bellhousing?

Those sleeves (if there a good quality) work well.

I don’t leave in the stock starter wire because there normally to short. I run the wire straight to the fire wall, make an90* left turn and angle down to the trans, make another 90* left turn to the starter. Zip tie/wire tie, just secure the wire up and out of the way. Looks clean and like a bit on the Professional side of installation. The starter wire stays cool it operates the way it should, always!

I agree.....if this gives me any issue at all, I am going to splice in some length to both the main positive wire to starter and the trigger wire to the starter and make them longer in order to route it around bellhousing and firewall just as you said. I am hoping this holds up for a little bit but we shall see I guess.

I got a longer battery cable and made up a couple of wires for the solenoid and ran it from behind instead of through the tubes.

I've used a small block battery cable in B-Body application with my TTI's and 512 because the small block cable is about 6" longer and cleared everything. ***note these were 1 7/8" TTI's in case that matters in a 72 B-Body.
