My dad had a turbine bronze hemi 4 speed car he sold in the early 80’s. Wish I could find it. Good luck with your build!

Well this is where we are at for the paint. I am supposed to pick it up next week. They want me to mount and remove all the trim and make sure it all goes back correctly then I will take it back and they will do the final paint on the outside.

Actually fitting the trim before final paint? Almost like they've done quality work in the past... Congratulations on finding a good shop & on getting the car so close to final paint....

Concur! I've seen so many guys go to fit trim, tail lights and surrounds and nothing fits. Pre-fit EVERYTHING... Quarter panel extensions, tail lights, trim panel, head light eyebrows.. you name it.

Aftermarket parts even more. We put 42 man hours in to my AMD door for the Superbird... door latch, glass channel guide mount holes, lock pull knob hole, vent frame mount slots, etc.. etc..

Nice work so far on that paint - looks close - how did you come up with the color you/they put on it ?

It is the original color the car was. I think it matches pretty close to the original paint chip I have. I really like the color. The interior is all white with black carpet so it will pop. I'm going to have to be a clean freak with the kids though. So we will see.

Well the car is back in the garage. I met with the painter yesterday who will finish paint the car and got a plan to get it driving for when he takes it back. I need to order more paint and some clear.
One question he had for me which I wasn't sure on was around the stripes. It was a black stripe car and I want to put the stripes back on. He asked if I wanted them gloss(under the clear) or flat over the clear. My thought was put it under the clear. However I am curious if others opinions on this. Also any examples of either.

Kids are excited to start assembling. Will keep most all the interior out of it but at least we can get the engine in, fuel and brakes and things.

If you are wondering why I am switching painters. The plan was the first guy to get it ready for paint and was recommended to me by a shop local to me. Thought about the first guy finishing it but he threw out a foose size price to finish it so back to my original plan.
