I’m wanting to do a turbo on my 360 magnum, so I need basic advice. Plus if you have any extra pieces laying around to start this project let me know. Please don’t ask what my goals are! Something like photo is what I’m looking to do.

This can be a great project. But if you are not a fabricator? It's not a project to take on.

I'm not a fabricator but I had been in the hobby for 15 yrs before I built my turbo 383 in my fury in my garage. You do need to be able to weld at least. Mine has been together since 2012. I did a lot of reading and studying.

There's a partial "kit" on ebay.

The link was on FxBO a while ago.

I’ve built a few race cars from ground up, not much I haven't done. I’ll check theses things out, thanks.

Then all you need to do is some reading to understand the sizing of the piping and turbo that help you meet your goals. And the best practices for layout.

Last winter I swapped my sons 360 turbo out his 62 Savoy into a 70 Duster. It had been well sorted out in the 62. Ran a best of 9.55@142. Though I mounted the turbo in the same location it was quite a challenge to package it. Lots of layout and careful measuring to make all the pipes fit. Not to mention the radiator, fan, and radiator hoses. Had to reweld radiator necks, fab the fan and shroud. It was damn tight. Along with the wiring, fuel system, boost control. All said and done it turned out great. Been doing this kind of stuff a long time. It was a lot of work.

You definitely want to spend a lot of time looking at the layout, the clocking, the order of installation of pieces.

Well, the size of the turbo and then pipes are guided by some kind of goal of HP or driveability. Of you want to make 1000hp for race or bragging rights it'll look different than a 550hp daily driver

One should be smart enough not to put a turbo the size of house on a street engine. Only newbies need goals it’s nothing but a catch phrase. There's plenty of charts, on turbo size out there to get in the ball park.

76 mm turbo with a billet wheel. 1991 360 LA hyd roller motor. 1 7/8" truck manifolds plenty big enough to make over 850hp.
