image.jpgimage.jpgimage.jpgI have a couple of questions for you guys. I have installed a new turn signal selector and when i move the lever it clicks into to slot for selecting the turn signal direction but when you try and move the lever to put it back in the center position it feels like the plastic might break. My question is i am missing something or do i have to modify this selector switch to work more smoothly. Does it look like the right part for a 68 coronet. Please ask questions if i am not make sense its hard to explain.

Thanks,

Jason

Jason, I know exactly what you're talking about. i changed mine out last year and it did the same thing. i put a smidge of di-electric grease in between the cam and the plastic for the turn signal stalk (that make sense?? lol) and worked it up and down a few times and it works great now. hope that helps

Ya tried that but still it feals like it will break. I feal stupid asking this question even. Has anybody ever filed or sanded the clip areas down a little.

you could give that a shot, IMHO i wouldn't try to file it down. one slip and crack! that and if you file too much then you're back at square one! just work it back and forth a bunch of times, it will break itself in. good luck!

Mario is right...work it back/forth a bit till she loosens up. Don't go sanding or filing your stalk. That just sounds painful.

Well i respect your guys opinion allot so i will just let it work itself in. Is this what these selectors look like however. I bought it from rt specialties. I know everybody likes rt specialties but i am not to happy with the products i get from there. It seams like i am always fixing new parts to make them right or even work at all. It could just be me though.

yeh changed same on my 68 yes it looks right although mine was white but it looks exactly right and i had the same stiff feel i used a bit of grease and worked like the other guys said and now it is good, its just like a virgin tight to begin with just got to lube it up and itll come free

Did you try pushing the long "S"shaped arm against the short arm versus moving it to neutral position with the lever. These switches aren't really supposed to be cancelled by moving the lever to neutral only with the cancel arm on the steering wheel.
