I may be being cheap and that’s OK if you say that I am. Trying to figure out if there’s someway to restore these items versus spending 100 or 200 bucks to get replacements. Mine are rust pitted a bit. Would it be as easy to Sand down, spray with etching primer and a chrome paint or would it look like crap/wear off and I would regret not just buying new ones. Thoughts? Thanks

I just shined my turn signal lever with 0000 steel wool and Mothers aluminum polish. It still has a few pits but looks better than it did.

You could place a wanted ad in the wtb section. How bad is the rust? themechanic is right. Sometimes 0000 steel wool and polish can make a rusty piece look fairly decent. I have a chrome auto shift handle that looked pretty bad. 0000 steel wool with some wd40 as lube made it look decent. Of course if the chrome is flaking off it won't work.

Completely forgot about steel wool option. I’ll also be jumping on some aluminum trim as well as the tail panel, would the 0000 steel wool be a good option for aluminum as well?
