I tried watching The Sopranos for the first time last year, I got through season 1 episode 6 and was bored out of my mind. Does it get better? Should I give it anther shot? Or is it a case of if I don't like the first several episodes, I won't like the rest?

Also, Dexter was a good series, definitely worth a binge watch.
I was a serious fan of The Sopranos, watching the entire series multiple times, from the time it made it's debut. However, I can easily understand how it could fail to hold one's interest. I connected to it because I worked for a corporation with an identical organizational structure, and I played Sil Dante, the consigliere, in real life. As a result, the dynamics between the characters kept me fascinated, but my wife was bored to tears, as well as turned off by the violence, the first time she watched it.

Sometimes the wife and I will binge watch during dinner and just after. Sometimes 2 episodes a night.
If we are feeling lazy on a weekend day, we will watch more. Shows like:
Person of Interest.
Longmire.
Justified.
Banshee.
Ozark.
The Mentalist.
The Blacklist.
Rescue Me.
The Walking Dead.
Breaking Bad.
Better call Saul.
Yellowstone and their spinoffs 1883 and 1923.
Blue Bloods.
Chicago Fire.
Sneaky Pete.
Hell on Wheels.
Mad Men.
Some we watch to the end of the run. Some lose their flavor and we abandon them. Something about Mad Men just caused me to tune out.
What shows have you enjoyed?

Usually if I am watching something - I have no patience and binge watch it until completion. On this list "Banshee" was my favorite!

Ozark was good too, mad men one of my favorites.

check out a show called Timeless on Hulu - its good. I liked the Scorpion show too, as well as Lucifer!

I'd second the vote for Hell on Wheels, which was one my personal favorites. I was shocked the lead character was a likeable former civil war soldier from the south. Another favorite is The Last Kingdom

I hardly ever turn the tv on, but last weekend recovering from Covid, I binged the last seasons of Survivor and Gold Rush. That’s the way to watch them All in one day each.

I don't watch TV, I mean not really. But, over the years a few shows caught my attention. Wife and I enjoyed a couple enough to buy DVD series.

Little House on the Prarie
Las Vegas(gets kinda meh at the end and then they cancel the show abrubptly, no real end)
House MD(wife more then me, but it was OK)

I also like According To Jim which runs daily on free tv, although I have seen most episodes by now. As the series goes on and the two daughters get old enough to start delivering some of the jokes it really cracks me up. The cast really meshed well I think.
Counting Cars is fun to watch through once.
Duck Dynasty is so stupid, and yet so wholesome, I will leave it on in the background sometimes.

Otherwise I will only sit and watch older stuff from the 70's or maybe 80's depending.

Crime Story was great , but not that many episodes. Anthony Denison was very believable when he played Ray Luca.

A couple odd ones I like.

In the Heat of The Night.
Always liked that show, interesting small town look in the late 80’s. In May I was home recovering from a surgery on my face, one of the sun channels was showing 3 or 4 episodes a day.

Mayday, Air Disaster.

Rescue Me was a good one in my opinion.... there's a lot of them but I'm on my cell phone right now and really hate surfing with it but I'll mention a couple others. Boston legal, Castle, Bones..... I probably watched more TV in my life during the last 2 months. Trying to do stuff in the shop when the temps hit over 100 just wasn't cutting it and now I seem to get tired even quicker than ever.

Suits
Sons of Anarchy
Yellowstone
The Queen
Breaking Bad

Sometimes when I'm pecking away online, the wife is on her computer as well so we will have the TV on just for background.
She likes these shows, I didn't care form them so much:

Mayans
Rizzoli and Isles.
FBI (I refuse to watch anything FBI for my own reasons)
Cold Case
Major Crimes.
Thank the Lord she doesn't watch many LIFETIME movies!

I watch TV to tune out not to stress out so I like the mindless old crap on MeTV, Comet, COZI, Laff, etc. or if I want to watch a movie I check what's on TCM and/or IFC.

Agree. That's the sort of stuff I'll put on to fall to sleep to, since the wife doesn't really care for any of it anyways
(and she's the sort that's out like a light when her head hits the pillow).
OTOH, the old shows on those channels are right up my alley. Nostalgia, comfort, etc.

Banshee and The Game of Thrones are the only two modern day slop operas I ever got sucked into. Sad to admit, I bought them both on release, ha ha.
