TV shows you used to love.

That woman expands and contracts like a pufferfish. I've never seen a woman change size as often as her. One season she is cute and thin, the next...she is in the "Honey Boo Boo" fighting class.
I'm no prize but I find her quite annoying.

And Saturday cartoons. Who wants to name some of those?
Some of my earliest (almost haunting) TV memories are of watching Gigantor and Speed Racer while laying on the living room floor.

I remember pretty much every show listed so far with the exception of a couple off @1STMP and @kiwigtx lists. Used to watch Mutual of Omaha with my Grandpa.
Disney on Sunday nights.
Ghost and Mrs. Muir was one of Mom's favorites.

It was said earlier, not too many good ones made anymore but then again "we" are no longer the target audience. Thank goodness for re-runs!

Night Court
Hardcastle and McCormick
Seinfeld
Johnny Carson
The original Law and Order
I still watch law and order reruns, and Olivia in the one that's still on.

So many shows listed. One's not listed;
In the Heat of the night
Blue Bloods
Chicago pd
Third Watch
ER

I do enjoy Blue Bloods.
The show is very much a formula though.
In just about every episode, you'll get the following:
Some public relations problem Frank has to deal with.
A murder that Danny and Baez solve around the last commercial break.
A street crime that involves the patrol cops.
A difficult witness that the ADA has to convince to come forward.

I've noticed that with many shows, they really do get in a rut with the plotlines and follow formulas.

Chicago Fire is harmless fun but at least ONCE a season, some rabble rouser comes along to cause trouble with the firehouse whether it is a city official with a grudge, a temporary fill in EMT or fireman. Also, after days working the firehouse, these people go to a second job at a bar and the other firehouse people join in? Wouldn't you want a break from people you're around 24 hours a day?

Blue Bloods and Law and Order fall into the problem that many do, how many ways can someone get shot or arrested. They run out of totally different plots for a story line to keep people interested.

When I was a kid I loved shows like Adam 12 and Emergency.
I wanted to move to LA and become a cop when I grew up.
I liked Movin On when it came on. I built model trucks and decided I wanted to be an over the road trucker.
I didn’t end up becoming a cop or a trucker, though I work as an engineer for a truck manufacturer and some of the truck chassis I set up are for fire truck and police command trucks, so I guess that ties in a little with my childhood dreams.
Movin On was one of my favorites. I actually found it on Prime, but didn’t catch all the episodes before they went away. Still love those KW’s and would like to catch the remaining episodes.

Think I still watch about half of those mentioned. Don’t like most of the new stuff coming out.

Growing up, our family ate dinner at the kitchen table. TV was not on even though it was visible from the kitchen.
I recall going to a friends house for dinner. He, his sister and single mother grabbed their plates and walked past their table and into the family room to eat while watching the TV. It seemed really strange to me.
That became habit for me after I moved out.
Now we only eat without watching TV if we have family over.
Mary and I do like to look for older shows to binge watch during meals and during our evening wind down time.
There was a cable show, it may have been Showtime. It caught my eye when in the final episode we caught by accident, had a '70 Charger.
The show was called Banshee.

We went back and watched the show from the start and then did the same with other shows.

Longmire.
Deadwood.
Person of Interest.
Breaking Bad.
We started watching "The Mentalist" but it seemed too candy-*** for us.
Outlander has been fun.

NYPD Blue with Dennis Franz, grittiest cop show ever IMO, the current Chicago PD is a close second.

Franz made the show.
It was humorous how David Caruso got such a huge ego on the show...he had to leave to further his MOVIE career.
It crashed and burned in epic fashion.

The Lone Ranger
Rescue 8
Sky King
Combat
Rat Patrol
Adam 12
Dragnet
The Sopranos
All in the Family
Blue Bloods
Longmire
The Terminal List
Roadkill Garage

finally !! Somebody named MY favorite TV show as a kid: "Combat !" yes, with the exclamation point. One of the BEST tv shows ever. That show should be required education & a requirement for citizenship. Then, it was Star Trek.

Used to watch Mutual of Omaha with my Grandpa.
Yep, "Wild Kingdom" with Marlin Perkins!

I wanted to keep my original list short, so I didn't mention these but I haven't seen them posted yet, and I liked them all----
Knight Rider
Beretta
TAXI
B.J. and the Bear
Diff'rent Strokes--wooshUtalkinboutWillis
Quantum Leap
Perry Mason
Matlock
X-Files
Wonder Years
Three's Company
Get A Life
Curb Your Enthusiasm (how many pumps is cheating?)
Greatest American Hero

FYI my wife saw me on here and was like "what about Dallas" and "what about Knotts Landing" and " what about LA Law"....

I replied with,
