I’ve been shopping leaf springs and noticed that the Mopar Performance Hemi springs are actually one of the cheaper options. I’m not really interested in the right spring bias but like the idea of a heavier spring and I assume they are USA made. I was thinking to buy two left springs. (sort of like Eugene Levy in Best in Show) Any reason this wouldn’t work? Do Hemi springs have more arch than the standard 5 leaf springs?

I found this chart when looking for arch info. I don’t know the source but assuming the info is correct it appears that the “left” Hemi spring (P/N 78-561) was used on both sides on ‘72 models equipped with a 440. Also, the Hemi spring actually has less arch than the standard 5 leaf spring, I guess since it’s a stiffer spring this is done to maintain the stock ride height. Anybody know what length U bolt is needed for a 6 leaf spring?

I just installed the Mopar XHD springs on my Coronet.. I used the AFCO Racing U-bolt's. 8.25" length. Probably around +/- 2" to spare..7" would work fine.

BTW....AFCO U-bolts from summit are $5.88 a piece...Heck of a lot cheaper than the 40-60 bucks for 4, a lot of places are soaking people with. Just a matter of how picky you are with originality I guess

Thanks, the AFCO bolts will work for me, I'm no purist.

Two left springs should work fine. Two right hand springs will be stiffer. Just depends what you're trying to do.

The guys at Firm Feel can help you sort it out. They sell different spring packages and have been thrashing on Mopar cars for 30+ years.
