My fender tag shows PP1 but then has a Q after it. Surely this is a typo?

PP1 tells us the car was painted all one color The Q means your inner upper door panels (the metal part) are painted red to go with your red interior.

Had someone tell me this meant metallic blue top and didn't think that could be. Interior is all red. Thank you.

Expressing an opinion from experience....online decoders are NOT helpful and create confusion, just like this example, because they do not distinguish or differentiate code changes from year to year, by models or in context. The Q code is one example. For exterior paint, Q is used in 66 for red metallic, in 67 it is dark red metallic and in 68 it is used for bright blue metallic. For stripes, Q is used for shades of red in 66 and 67. For interior trim, like seats, Q is used in 66-67 for turquoise.

Loooking at the Q code in the original post in context and application, your Q code follows your exterior paint code meaning it is for upper door frame color. In 1967 this indicates red in order to match your P6R or P6V trim code. See below.
