Under dash springs???

1964 Dodge Polara. There are two springs just hanging under the dash off the steering column. What are they and where do they go??

I can see where the one long one goes to a hole in the brake pedal lever, but it needs the other one too? Right now there are none and it returns just fine.

I would think a one point the PO had a bad master cylinder and placed those springs there to return the brake pedal.

None of my early "Bs" ever had those. I agree with khryslerkid.Some thing makeshift .

OK, thanks for all the comments and information. I also have a 69 Roadrunner that does not have any springs. Pics included this time. I will remove the springs and save them for something down the line. Thanks again.

The later 60's power brake cars had this odd, nearly pointless anti-rattle spring on the linkage. It often fails, cracks and gets tossed. It has a specific shape, not like the ones pictured.

I changed from a B&B clutch to a diaphragm clutch and needed springs to bring the clutch pedal back up.
