Update here is the mini tub kit with paint. I had the body guys clean up the seams. I think they turned out great! I don't think may people will notice they've been tubbed, and that was the goal!

So this will give you a idea of the width. I had flattened out the lower trunk lid bracket to weld back in place, but I could see my brackets were to close together. 39 7/8 as opposed to the 40 3/4 it was originally. So I trimmed the recess in the middle out allowing me to push the brackets out to where they were supposed to be. And it looks pretty good also I think.

Great attention to detail. The PO did my tubs and they're fine, but not nearly as clean as yours. He moved the hinge brackets inboard that same 3/4" to 7/8" you mentioned. The hinges did still work, but the torsion springs would not mount properly and constantly slipped off and bound the mechanism up.

I had to take about 3/8 off the end of the torsion springs for clearance. I only open and closed it 5-6 times but seemed to be ok.
