USCT TR6060 Trans Mounts Too Low

I’ve been working on the trans mounts for my Gen 3 6.4 Hemi with TR6060 being swapped into a 69’ Coronet.

Have the engine mounted to the QA1 coil over K frame with the QA1 mounts. K frame bolts in and tight, engine mounts tight. Have the engine offset 2.5 inches to the passenger side. Measuring from the front frame rails to the center of the crank bolt. As per TTI’s guidelines from their website.

I’ve got the drive train angled 2 deg down with everything tight as mentioned above.

The problem I see is that the mounts that are to be welded to the USCT trans perimeter frame are sitting what seem to be very low. Which I can see will most likely interfere with the TTI exhaust.

Am I missing something ??

Has anyone else run into this problem?

The pictures from the USCT website show the mounts basically sitting up close to the floor. Looks like they’re using a QA1 K frame in the pic as well.

While I wait for a response, I am going to mock up a new set of tabs that mount to the trans out of cardboard that will move the welded perimeter mounts up closer to the floor and out of the way for exhaust clearance.

Call USCT up and ask them some questions as well. Just wanted to see if some of you folks have encountered similar issues.

Fab’d up some new trans tabs for mock up purposes. Tacked the mounts in place, pulled the engine and trans and went to town with the welder. Once again not the most visually appealing welds but they’re strong.

Welded the mounts right to the cross member which should help with rigidity after cutting the center out. Plan on using some more material to make a continuous solid connection of the USCT arch which should be a good replacement of the factory trans cross member.

Trans tab fabrication complete. Nice thick material. Solid TIG weld for the spool mounts. Shouldn’t buckle when I jam gears!

At least you have a nice shop to build your own parts! I put the usct stuff in my car too. This is where mine sit at 2° in a 1969 GTX with a reilly motorsports front suspension. The TTI header collector reducers fit through with no problems at all.

It’s nice to see other TR6060 configuration. Thanks for sharing. Did you go with the TTI exhaust system as well?

I work at a new build automotive tooling shop so I’ve got access to a machine shop.

I actually did the exhaust a couple of years ago. Bought an exhaust system for a 69 b body online. Don't remember the brand. It completely sucked! Spent days modifying it to make it fit right. Now it's going to have to be modified again. I wish I would've bought the tti system in the first place. Or just taken it to a shop for a full custom job.

I will have to see how well the TTI X Pipe exhaust system fits in a few days when I get the drive train installed for the final time. I will post an update.
 
Drive train installed with altered trans mounts. Slotted the tab screw holes slightly to gain adjustability for drive train angle. Sitting at 2.5 deg down at the moment.
