Val Kilmer passed away

Way to young. Just watched him die in Too Gun Maverick a few nights ago. RIP

R.I.P. Val. He brought so many fun characters to life. I probably watched Real Genius 30+ times in high school alone.

I wound up watching last night's Tombstone rerun on the Grit channel, and his Doc Holiday part is some of his best work...IMHO!!! Actually, his best supporting role as an actor was in the movie Heat, where the downtown LA firefight took place. It was declared to be one of the most accurate portrayals any actor has ever accomplished, as his gun handling expertise was spot on!!! And, of course, his roles in both the Top Gun movies were also excellent. Just sad that the Cancer began his slow decline, and he succumbed to pneumonia infection at such an early age. Now the Boss Man has his personal Huckleberry...RIP Val...cr8crshr/Bill:praying::praying::praying::usflag::usflag::usflag:

R.I.P. Val..... I actually thought he already departed us.

Thinking about the signs of an actor's ability made me realise that if you either love or hate a character, they are great at their job.
Other actors who you don't even remember or rate...... just make up the numbers.

Val's characters were truly memorable, even though even was saddled with the title of Worst Batman ever.
I actually thought he was already gone as well....I knew he had been sick for a few years.
I like guys like him that can really create characters (as opposed to someone like chickendick DeNiro that comes off as the same Italian tough no matter the role)....

I recall back in the day, reading about Kilmer's method acting in Tombstone. To make himself look more authentically pale and sweaty, he drank tobacco water to make himself sick. And on the deathbed scene where he was seen shivering, he was actually laying on a bed of ice.

That is dedication to the craft.

65 & had the world by it's tail,
had something wrong with his throat for a long time,
I assumed it was cancer

RIP Val

Doc Holiday was his best IMHFO

65 is far too young, but it happens. Said the guy who is 78 and still messing with a 318 and 727, and making many plans for the future. He had many different types of roles.
The Doors was the last CD playing in my truck.

Probably my favorite movie of his was 'The Saint', partly because he played so many different characters. These were all played by Val in that movie - and all with their unique voices and mannerisms.
