i have always wondered where my car came from and who owned it and if i could contact the previous owners for any old cool stories or whatever!! looked online didnt really see a good way to find the title history. has anyone or does anyone know of a good way to maybe search this info. just thought maybe it would be cool if i ended up meeting the person that bought my car new back in the day! thanks for the help!

I tracked down the original owner of my car using the info from the CertiCard under the hood (he sold the car in 1987 but the card was still there - I think I'm the 5th owner). There was also an old registration from both he and the second owner in the glove compartment (second owner had the car for only a couple years). I was able to track down phone numbers of both owners using the internet, and I called them. Not sure what you'd do if you didn't at least have some old documentation that came with the car.

The original owner of my car traded in an Austin Healey 3000, and he said the car was just sitting on the lot, he didn't special order it (manual brakes and steering, 383-4bbl, 4spd). He also mentioned that when he lived in SoCal in the 70s he took the car across the border to Tijuana and had the seats redone in a diamond tuck, (said it was cheaper down there). The seat covers are still holding up well.
