Hello all hope Christmas was good getting in some car time ;I have a 70 Roadrunner basket case it was pretty stripped when I got it ,anyway I bought a mint rh dr not knowing that it was a hardtop door anyway I got the parts from our members glass tracks and post side glass;for some unknown reason the vent window is a half inch too tall it will hit the trim if I try to close the door ;the door is perfect still had original plastic under the door panel;everyone I talk too
Says all vent windows are the same ;it’s just weird I’ve never run into this before I did the same swap on drivers door it works fine ;what if I bought a convertible dr and didn’t know it are the vent windows still the same ,I’ll take a picture tomorrow window is back out just doesn’t make sense. Thanks Gregg

The vent windows/frame are different for the convertibles as compared to the hardtop/two door sedan applications. The convertibles had more rake for the front windshield, so I believe that you have the door for a convertible in your possession.

Thanks so much I’ve put many cars together this really had me stumped I’ll pick up another vent window assy thanks

The convertible window is taller and lean further forward so not only does it make contact at the top it will overlap the A pillar about 3/4" maybe more..

Oh, if it is in fact a convertible door the two dimples on the door jamb above the latch will be drilled out & the may be a plastic wedge screwed to the door...

For a 68 to 70 B-Body convertible, the glass channel located at the back of the door closest to the hinge area is slightly different than the hardtops and two door sedans. In fact, all three varieties of the door use a different channel. I have no ideal if you can use one from the other, but I recall a post on here from @chtampa in which he posted some excellent information on the differences. To make your life easier, it may be worth the efforts to find a rusty mangled convertible door and swap out the inner pieces into your good door hull.
