Hello, this is my first attempt to remove the vent window and door glass from a 1968 B Body sedan door frame. I've done this on the hardtop versions and the vent window frame assembly is simply lifted out upward without a frame in the way. How is this performed on a sedan window frame? I tried removing the bottom adjuster pin hoping to kick-out the vent frame that way but I had no luck. The pin just spins when you are ratcheting on the bottom nut thru the access hole.

Any help would be appreciated. My goal is to remove all of the door internals such as glass, regulators, latches etc. Down to a bare shell so it's easier for me to load up in my truck to take to the swap meets. Plus I want to gain more experience with Ma Mopar!

Thanks

I just pulled them from a 66 Belve. Take the mounting bolts and nut out of the forward window track/vent frame/post and there are a few screws on the top under the weather stripping also I had three of them.

Thanks for the reply,
Describe mounting bolts and nut if referring to the vent frame post because I've tried to remove the bottom anchor point where you have to remove that plastic plug to gain access to the nut. Then when I wrenched on the nut then the guide pin just spins thus the nut does not complete the threads for removal. Pics attached below to help better describe my situation.

Is that stud slotted? If so hold the nut and turn the stud out. Not the same door as I had for sure.

Yes it is slotted and I tried that. Very hard to gain access to get a wrench on the nut because it's "caged" in there. And even if I do get the wrench to stay on the nut, the threads are somewhat stiff and making it hard to turn the slotted end. Not from rust but by design.

Hopefully someone will weigh in who has done this before.

Thanks for your input thus far.

I'll have to do this for the weatherstripping on my '68, so I'll let you know if I make any discoveries on this end.

Just an update - went to do the vent window weatherstripping today, only to find out that my trick of using B-van weatherstripping did not work out, so I didn't pull anything from the car.

Back to the drawing board - but this time I'm armed with measurements to get bulk weatherstripping that does fit. Then I can come up with some answers for vent window servicing.

P.S.: I might be in the market for the lower rear window trim off that Coronet of yours.
