Does anybody know what retains the vent window latch knob/lever to the short shaft on the vent glass bottom channel? The knob/lever comes off & I see no means of it being retained on that little stub shaft. I would guess most are the same but this is in reference to a 70 B body.

Thanks

It's secured on the shaft with a small roll pin.
If you look closely at the lever you will see the hole for the pin

Also there should be a wavy spring washer on the post behind the latch lever to keep it from rattling.

As a follow-up, I'm screwed. Apparently the tip of the shaft beyond the groove that the pin rides in is broke & in the handle in 2 separate assemblies.
How in the world would a person get that pin out to remove the handle? I have another one where the handle won't move, not going to force it & have it soaking in penetrant.

Thanks

I use the correct size roll pin punch and a small hammer to remove the pin.

Thanks, I didn't realize the pin went all the through. Assumed it just went in to engage the chamfer. Better picture in my head now of how it is put together.
