VIN stamp on 10-31-66 Hemi casting

My pad has so much paint on it that anything there is difficult to see. But I peered at it pretty closely when I had the coil off and I couldn’t see anything there except maybe the water test stamp. Bad photo but not enough there to be worth removing the coil.

I'm not that literate on those numbers, but try this. 426 Hemi 233rd day of 66, engine 0012.

The 1966 Hemi engine number had prefix B-H-426-B. The engine number for the 426cid engine in 1966 was stamped top, front of block, left of water pump. The first "B" stands for the model year, 1966.
1967 - C, 1968 - D

1965 engine number was AH for a hemi and just A for a wedge unit. Stamped left side, front of block, behind thermostat housing. 1967 engine number started with C for 1967(C-426-). Same place as 1966.

1967 models had the engine number stamped on left side, rear of block, near oil pan flange. The engine number started with PT for the Trenton engine plant. 1968 and up carried on the 1967 engine number layout.

I knew the Hemi engine in my 66 Satellite was not original - I figured from the casting date of 10-31-66 it was from a 67. I thought the VIN was on the back of the block above the bellhousing but I couldn’t see anything back there - hard to see - even with a bore camera. Today I noticed a stamping on the lower left rear of the block on the rear web of the block. But guess I’m not Mopar smart enough to decipher. The full stamped number is:

VIN42623360012

That obviously is not a typical vehicle VIN but I assume it does have some purpose or meaning by Chrysler. Engine assembly stamp? Or is it more likely a rebuilders stamp?

Dang......I was 10 years old on that day !
