My 1969 superbee WM23 show vinyl top/ W for color which shows up correct by small pc under the half top chrome molding. Yes this is only a HALF VINYL TOP. Has any seen or know of another? Thanks fellow Bee people. [email protected] David Hunt

I agree, would have to see pictures of that myself.

Yes this is a new one on me. Never seen a 1/2 vinyl top.

These pics were taken in a yard in Dodge City, KS back in 2000. I tried to buy this car, but the owner of the yard said he sent the title in to the state as a wrecked/junked vehicle and could not be legally sold.

hmmm V1W is a full white vinyl top. there is no designation on the tag for a half top, very interesting though

Can't say I ever saw one like that on a 69 Bee either.

first for me. it also has / had some kind of side moulding from right behind the door towards the front of the car

if im not mistaken , the only "half " top or "canopy" top that was available in 69 on any mopar was the 69 barracuda of which the front portion was covered. possibly a C body in there somewhere.

Wonder if the back half of the vinyl was bad and PO just cut it off and put trim across it. super77se, that molding could be the stick on type that people added on to protect from parking lot door dings. JMO

The real question is what is the deal with that Shaker Hood? Did you buy it or what?

The shaker hood went home with me that day.....well at least it left the yard with me. I stopped by a friend's house on my way home that day....and well.....he had a 71 'Cuda 440-6 car that was begging for a shaker hood....and I needed parts for my 70 RoadRunner.......

We both were very happy with the outcome.

Just happened to stop by I'll bet ... nudge nudge, wink wink. Thanks I needed an ending to that story in my head :)

Very interesting find either way. Correct me if I'm wrong everyone but weren't "canopy tops" mostly an "on request" dealer-installed option, or??

Interesting, because...........?

The feirce sabertooth gopher didn't migrate to kansas till late 1800's. Geezus man, don't you watch Mutual of Omaha?

In all seriousness, think jay's inquiring there's maybe a possibility it's the same car somehow or another?

I'd have to say that is an aftermarket top. If I could see the actual chrome they used on the roof band and the sail panel trim I could say for sure. Back in those vinyl top days a lot of cars had aftermarket tops and sometimes body side moldings as well as some type of pinstripe tape to create a car specific to a particular area

That particular one in the photos is not one of the ones we had installed. It is easy to tell because the ones we did had an arch shaped piece of chrome across the top at the front that matched the actual curve of the windshield.

We had a bunch of different top configurations for many different brands of cars. I'm willing to bet that's not a factory installed top.

exactly, well said

not to mention , there would be a code for it on the tag in conjunction with the V1W for full vinyl , maybe even a delete code and another specified for whats there
