vinal top on 1969 Bee ?????????

exactly, well said

not to mention , there would be a code for it on the tag in conjunction with the V1W for full vinyl , maybe even a delete code and another specified for whats there.

There would be no delete code as there is nothing to indicate the top was standard, like the spring special package.

V1* is present on the tag. One must consider this an after factory modification unless other documentation is shown.

Hi, I see you have my car on pics. It is REAL with factory molding in place as shown on photo. I must not be the only one to see it. This is one of many cars I bought from Rod. D Hunt with maybe a RARE Bee. Have a great Mopar day.

Literally the same car? So they guy did actually still have the title?

I tried to buy this car, but the owner of the yard said he sent the title in to the state as a wrecked/junked vehicle and could not be legally sold.

It was not easy to buy this car. I kept at him and then I am informed the yard was sold to someone else. I quick as a wink call new owner and he says bee is sold. I go home crying to my dear wife the Bee is sold, and I have no reason to live. A couple of weeks later the wife informs me the yard called and said the Bee is mine if I want. I about pissed my pants in my hurry to get it down to the yard and pick up this 1969 green super bee. When I received it on my trailer there was no front k frame , no rear end,/ and no doors. All is put back but......hood and right fender. Does any one have this? D Hunt at [email protected]

Did you end up getting the title with the car?

It's obviously 'real'. No one is disputing that.

Half tops were not uncommon in the 70's. Modifications were not uncommon. Have we determined that no readily available molding in the 70's could work for this application? Any factory documents show this was available? Product information bullitens showing a release date? Parts book reference? Service manuals? Updated option code lists? Window sticker? Broadcast sheet? Ordering information? Other examples?

It looks like in the one photo where the shaker hood is leaning up against the car, you can see some vinyl just above the C pillar chrome trim unless my eyes are worse than I thought. Still either way, i'm glad you got to save it.

the back half was covered in vinyl , that's why I find it so odd. the traditional "canopy" top covered the front section. that's why there is chrome trim across the rear pillar . I believe it left the factory with a white full vinyl top. I must admit it really has my curiousity going

David, How long ago did you buy this one? Is it still as rust-free as the 2000 pictures showed?

Yes it is stiil as rust free as in photos. I have owned it two summers. Yes I am saving it. But with ten classics to restore it will take time. In Kansas I can get all paper work and a title search to show all ownership and details. I sold gb70 his yellow 1970 RT/SE Dodge challenger that was rebuilt here on the dodge charger page 2 years ago. LOTS OF RUST FREE MOPARS HERE. Thank you for any help I can get in parts for this bee. D hunt .
