A guy down the street from me owns a shop and has a junkyard behind it. He let me walk through it this morning as I was looking for a '67 GTX he has. I took some pictures and thought I'd share them with everyone. Bunch of old A and B body mopars. The first pic is a MINT 1969 Dart.

Nice these pics are a whole lot nicer then the one you posted in the Blue Room!LOL. Where in Va are you? Getting harder and harder to find old Mopars in junkyards. Looks like a pretty good stash, is he selling anything and if so is he reasonable with his prices? Any pics of the GTX you went to see?

I spoke to the guy at length. His Dad was a big Mopar enthusiast back in the 60's and that is how the cars ended up in the junk yard. They scrapped a lot of cars a few years ago when steel prices sky rocketed. He will sell and trade his Mopars. He and his kids are always buying, trading, etc. They scour ebay, craigslist, etc, daily for parts.

The junkyard is right beside the river. A few years back it flooded and filled most of the cars with sand. My shoes were filled with mud and water when I left. He is a reasonable person to deal with but then again, he knows the value of his cars/parts.

Most of the cars are without motors and the interiors have seen the weather.

I live in south west VA (Roanoke area).

Yeah, Blue room...couldn't resist.

There's a pile of money sitting there yet thats for sure!

Looks like the gTx is all there..Hopefully the rest of the car is not as rusty as the vin tag is...That guy has a small gold mine on his hands..
Petty Blue 67 gTx

Like Ken said, seems there is some of all the other makes but even behind barns where ive seen some old cars and stopped i never see any Mopars. Thanks for posting these.. Ive noticed most of pics that guys leave are from the south more then not.

So how is Mr. Newton doing today? LOL
I used to go there and get stuff back in the 70's and the old man was still around. :angry9:

Yep, we are nearly neighbors. I have a white 64 Fury and a ruby red 67 Coronet R/T, plus a red 78 D 100 Club Cab pickup I play with as my hobby vehicles. Yell if you see me out somewhere. What Mopars do you have?

I have a 67 Belvedere II that is a work in progress. Hopefully you will see me tearing up the roads in another year or so.

I go to most of the "Crusie Ins" at Crossroads Mall in the summer. They are sponsored by Advance auto and co sponsored by the Roanoke Valley Mopar Club. Maybe see ya there! :hello2:
