I've had sodium filled valves in the past.

Never heard of a sodium filled valve before. The other one was something about the wrist pins bearing/bushing.

My Mini had sodium fill valves. It was a 63 Morris Cooper 998 S, dry suspension, but it had a 66 Austin Cooper S engine/trans, dual 1 1/4" SU's

I got the same and I've never put an engine together (except lawnmower). My brother is the engine guru and I've learn a lot from him.
