Well I keep tearing stuff out of the car and finding more problems. From the factory did they put some kind of caulk or sealant in the drip rail over the doors? I could see rust between roof and whatever was in the drip rail. Some of comes out like bondo but other portions of it act like it was a sealant because it is kind of squishy. What can a guy do to get that stuff cleaned out of there? For the most part it looks clean underneath but there is a very small portion of rust that I have no idea how to fix.

I got the windshield out also and found a pretty bad spot in the lower left corner that someone leaded and tried to repair before. What are the best options to go about fixing an area like this? I'm a bit new to body work this in depth but I would like to attempt it myself if at all possible.

The other area of concern is the firewall. I got the heater and "factory ac" box out and it appears someone cut the firewall out around the heater box welded a different one in I'm guessing to put ac in the car. They did a very poor job and I'm not sure if I should try to weld what they didn't or look for a different panel? 20141015_144202.jpg20141015_144127.jpg20141015_144041.jpg20141015_144050.jpg

I used a narrow chisel to get the old caulk out of my drip rails. most popped right off. Other areas I had to use an oscilatiing tool with a plunge blade on it. It kind of 'saws away' the stuff.

I just use the side edge of a wire wheel on Milwaukee grinder to clean out the old factory seam sealer from the drip rail gutters. I replace it with 3M heavy seam sealer. As far as your bad window corner, myself I would just hand fab a small patch for that repair. If it extends further into the outer cowl near that curved outside edge transition, possibly look at getting a donor section or full AMD cowl replacement (depending on the rest of the outer cowl). As far as the firewall, depending on the hack job by the previous owners, i'd either opt to repair, find a decent donor replacement, or just buy a new firewall from AMD (any pic's?)

Well I stumbled upon a mopar resto guy from the matco man. He is coming to take a peak at it tonight and give me a rough idea what he would charge. I'm just barely ok at body work and really don't want to be disappointed when I'm done with it. So we will see what he has to say.

I used a propane torch and a wire wheel. Don't get it to hot, just warm it and it comes right out.
