I didn't have much luck with the internal pipe wrenches so I made one using an old 11/16 long barrel socket. I sliced a 1/8" slot on both sides, slid in a chunk of 1/8" flat stock and welded it up. Works great. I do like the one one Mike made in post 19 though. Much easier than the one I made.

Oxy/Acetylene torch and vice grips... Maybe a little wax.

i used a socket that just fit over the nipple,cut a slot in it and welded in a piece of flat stock.
