I got a bottle of the original from the link in this thread, or name of the place. Haven't gotten to try it yet, but I will def use cotton to apply and microfiber to buff off. I'm hopeful this is the same as the original.

I'm trying these microfiber as an experiment. Just throw away after each use. I've noticed that microfiber becomes hard and abrasive after a few washings. Walmart.com has these for $15 for a roll of 75.

Re-reading this thread as I want to pick up one of these waterless wash products. Has anyone compared Ultra Luster to Dual Polymer or the Meguiar's product? I'm leaning towards Ultra Luster, I don't think anybody has had a negative criticism of that one.
I'm not sure if these are on the shelf at your local Walmart, but the application says I can pickup local, so assume they are in stock at the store.
I've bought both and still have not tried the Ultra Luster. Looking at the bottles they look identical in color. I'll let you know when I try the Ultra Luster.

Thanks, my nearby Wallyworld has them in stock, what about the "apply" towels? Will any cotton washcloth/dishrag etc work? Probably the thicker the better?

Not a big fan of micro fiber.
If you ever drop one on your garage
floor, you may as well throw it in
the trash. They'll instantly pick up
any contaminants which become
embedded in the fibers and any
future use with that contaminated
towel will lay waste to your paint
job.
Terry cloth (washed without
softener or dried without drier
drier sheets) is the way to go.
This, just my personal opinion of
course, based on many years of
being OCD about the looks of my
cars.
By the way...
I use Meguires waterless.
The paint on this Jeep is 40 years
old.

My rule of thumb is any towels that contact the floor is no longer used on cars.
I'm not a fan of microfiber for anything except buffing. Terry cloth rated at 100% cotton everywhere else.
I'm thinking the disposable roll of microfiber is the best way to go, but we'll see.

There is somthing to be said for get what you pay for on these even at this price. I have run a few of mine through the wash machine, full of grime off my vehicles, at least 15 times and they may have a dark spot/stain but they have remained good as new as far as the material and function.
No scratches, absorbant, I used one to buff carnuba off one of my cars a couple times even. These were purpose designed and someone knew what they were doing! They just go in with a pair of dirty blue jeans and double soap(we use those pod things) and are ready for action again.
There are a couple ways to look at this type of thing. I prefer buy once, cry once instead of throw away and buy more 20 times. To each their own, but I can vouch for the quality in this particular towel if someone is will to invest in it like a tool.
Edit: I should note that I have several of these that are a smaller size. Exact same material/pattern/logo/everything though. I only have 2 of this large size and use them only for drying.
