I bought a 69 Coronet 440 with a 383 engine and it has a Weber 4bbl Carburetor 9656 SA.
I have been searching on the internet and can't find out much if anything about these carbs.
I see Weber sells the needle/seats but that is about it.
The car starts and runs great so I have no problem with the Carb but would like to know more about it.
I found a Weber 9635 SA on E-bay that says it is a 625 cfm.

I did find more about marine applications they used these for but not much on automotive use.
Any info would be greatly appreciated !!

I came up with nothing too. Being a marine unit maybe that's why, IDK? Good Luck

I had always been under the impression Weber made some carbs for Carter/Edelbrock. I don't recall which owned the company at that point.

A few years back I followed up on a Craislist ad for a 318 poly 2X4 intake setup with Weber carbs. I had to see that. When I got there the carbs even had the Carter/Edelbrock band attached at the top front of the air horn. There was a small 'weber' stamped down lower on the carb body. The seller got quite upset with me when I explained they were Edelbrock and basically copies of the AFB. He kept saying the carbs had to be worth at least $1000 each because they were Webers.

Long story short some weeks later I ended up with the whole setup for much, much less than what the poor guy was thinking for value. Used one of them and in going through it all the components were the same as any other AFB I've been through over the years.

I did see that Weber was associated with Carter/Edelbrock as well at some point.

Pretty much the same as the Edelbrock 1406

I have no idea at this point.
The car originally was a 383 2bbl but someone put a Edelbrock 383 performer intake with this Weber carb and hp exhaust manifolds with duels but other than that looks stock.
I just bought the car last month from a dealer in South Dakota but have the 2nd owners name from the title and I am going to try and get in touch with him to see what he knows about it.
It runs real strong with no bog and has a slightly aggressive idle.
Depending on what if anything I can find out from the 2nd owner I plan on pulling a head to check for hardened seats and see what I can see from there.
Oh and the Beer is on me for sure !!
