...near twin to my 72 wagon. It's a 73, and rough. Satellite Custom.

Factory air car, 318/2, 489 case rear. Curious what ratio. Runs on carb cleaner, fuel tank is shot, lines are shot, brakes are shot, grille missing, but all glass is good, interior is worn but complete (6 passenger), body could be worse, floors seem solid. Debating buying as a parts car for mine, or a partner car (one stock, one not)...

Been looking for a decoder for the tag. Anyone have a good one?

Should be able to find some info on line. I have in the past.....and you have any other pics on it? One positive thing is the tag is still on it and not rusted up.

yep, seems to match up. "side stripes" may be the wide body moldings. My '72 was factory with a 489 3.23 rear; maybe this one is the same?

How much do they want for it?

They were trying to close (its at a shop) so I didn't take any other pics, these are from the ad:

As I said, it's a 73 not a 72 (12/72 build)...funny thing though, it's from the same dealer that sold mine!

asking too much IMO. For me, it's a $1000 parts car as it sits. Not running, not stopping...I know how expensive (and impossible to find) wagon gas tanks are...I don't know. I may try to get it cheap, see what the guy says.

I wouldn't part it out. It's pretty nice. Depends on how bad the tank is, they can be repaired.

Throw some mud and see what sticks. From the add as a 15 footer it looks OK. But you saw it in person and seem to be well versed in that model. IDK $1800 maybe?

Been there, done that. I've owned mine since '92 and lost count of how many "repairs" I've done. They put it in the quarter panel behind the drivers rear tire, so EVERY piece of whatever gets kicked up and dinks the tank...resulting in a ton of pinholes. For a while, I was keeping JB Weld in business!! I found a (probably the LAST) new, OEM tank a couple years ago...don't ask how much it was...lol

Mine back in the day (with 360/380 crate motor):

And now, with a "standard" LA 360/4bbl:

Bodywork is on the list, as you can see...gray is where there's mud (removed trim, filled mount holes; dent on lower doors; rust around rear wheel lip; surface crap where wheel arch moldings used to be) but the floors are solid and the paint on top is original.

That one looks really nice. I wish I had room, I'd really like to have a wagon, I used town a bunch of them as dd back in the day.

I like that wagon. OK, stupid question...if wagon tanks are that rare, why not just weld the crap out of them? I mean, I wouldn't car if I had big pieces of sheet metal welded in as long as it didn't leak. It's not a concours hemi roadrunner or anything.

There has to be a race tank that would fit in there also. Or one of those spare tire fuel cells.
