J & M Production Astro Spiral AMC Javelin over 30 feet upside down in the air! This death defying stunt was first done in Houston at the Astrodome. It would later appear at thrill shows all over the country. There were 6 of these special six cyinder Javelins used, mostly stipped with no options and beefy front ends and if you ever saw them land after doing a 360 you would know why. The most famous of this particular jumps was utilized the the James Bond (AMCers call it a AMC Cult Classic!!) film "The Man With The Golden Gun" whereas a red 360V8 powered Hornet hatchback performs same stunt over a canal in Thailand.

I like the Javlins. Dad was going to give me the '69 he had as a work car for my first car. That was until a guy in another Javlin plowed into the back of his.

it did. It was rust free, perfect interior. originally a 343 car, the guy Dad got it from had blown it up and it had a straight 6 in it we Dad got it. Dad left for work at 3am, got less than a 1/4 mile and the headlights went out. he pulled over, and was under the hood when he heard this other car comming hard!(thank God for loud pipes) Dad dove in the weeds and the guy plowed into our car. Comming home drunk from the bar. totally compressed the trunk, the gas tank looked like a flattened out beer can. miricale it didn't blow.

hi guys. went to go see that javelin today. NOTHING like the ad claims...however it is a nice solid car....not a show piece by any means and DEFINITELY not worth the 15 G's he is asking.

drove it. has a 360 with a bad miss. mopar tranny 727,, shifted good....no major rattles or squeaks...few things i noticed but nuthin i cant fix. body gaps not what they should be.

it has side pipes that the dude claims was a " dealer installed" option that was pre -ordered. glass was good....some tinted , some not. power brakes felt like manual.... i want to go look at another one before i decide if i even want this one. paint was nice,,,body was straight...all black. interior was not original altho he swore it was. it has a grille on it that i cant find in any google pix i searched for. the dude wants 15,000....but i see it as a 8,000 dollar car. heres the one i looked at today

Not a real common car any more, so somebody might pay. But the grill looks like a base '71 style. Sidepipes were optional in '69, they may have still been available in '72. If not, the earlier factory ones would still fit and a dealer could easily have installed them.

I always liked Javelins, but prefer the first generation.
