I'm wondering what amperage this alternator is.
I think we got it from a 1971 New Yorker.

It's a double pulley, 14 lamination field stack, with only 3 of the laminations showing between the housing castings.

It has the large diode housing on the back with dual 'field' connection tabs.

Housing #s are 4091424 and 105111

Looks to be a manufacture date casting with an 83 in the middle.

Any ideas ???

Thanks, Joe Latessa

OK my local NAPA guy said it would be a 55-65 amp from an air-conditioned
Mopar.

He tested it and said it failed due to DC volts output at 15.5, too high.

Is this too high?

Thanks

feel free to correct me but that alt isnt internally regulated correct it has a voltage reg that mounts on the firewall. if it was internally reg ya that would be too high but im almost positive its externally regulated and that reg is what is going to reduce the juice going back into the car
