I remember those twin I beam Ford commercials.

That hit home. The last dealer I worked at was Worthington Dodge in Carlsbad Ca. He was quite the gentleman. We went to the Christmas party for the dealer in 03, very nice. He was in his 80's at the time, WW2 Vet/Pilot like my dad and a poster child for Viagra. Had a 40ish year old wife and a 2 year old son.

I remember a commercial where a pickup truck is climbing a steep rock pile, pulling one of it's competitiors and hauling another competitor's pickup turned sideways on the bed.

I worked at the Jeep assembly plant in Toledo. Shortly after this commercial came out, Chrysler bought Jeep. I guess he took his own advice..

Seems to me I remember those adds in the Sacramento area mid to late 80’s. He must have had a dealership somewhere around

You guys ever have a false memory of something that you SWEAR that you saw but cannot find any evidence of it?
I recall a TV ad for Chevy trucks in the mid 70s where they drop a 1/2 ton truck some 20-30 feet to the surface of a shipping loading dock.
Ford did a similar ad but their truck was a pathetic 6-8 feet off the ground.
I have searched YouTube numerous times for vintage Chevy ads and still can't find any evidence of that ad being true.
