Since I'm all new to Dodge I'm struggling a bit to identify everything I have in the car. Can someone identify what carb this is? It's fitted to a 383 Magnum.

Looks like a Holley 4160 series double pumper. Look for the number on the front of the air horn , and we can find out the CFM

Thanks for the input. Will look into it! Is it a descent Carb or a good piece to upgrade?

Depends upon your set up and what CFM it is. Looks like it could be 750CFM. Like I said, get the number off of the front of the choke housing and post it here. I will know the CFM by that.

I've never had that much luck with a holley personally. They like alot of fuel. I would swap it with a carter/edelbrock avs. Easier to tune and work on. Just my preference. Would hold on to a holley, never know when you need a spare.

center hung "race" bowls, looks like choke is wired open and rear fuel bowl looks newer then the rest of the carburetor???

Time for a change ! First the DP Holleys are GASLOVERS...also you have a Automatic Transmission...so Vacuum secondarieswill be the better way to go...
For your 383 a EDELBROCK 650 AVS Thunder would be a real good Carb. Simple...but works

Greetings Juergen

.. btw... if your intake is useful for a SPREADBORE Carb.... go with a Thermoquad ! The best carb you can use... Close to a fuel injection if tuned properly

that's a 4781, 850cfm double pumper holley. a bit much for a stock intake 383.

Yeah, what he said...

DP's are known to be bad on gas in town at least but can deliver good numbers out on the highway so long as you have a steady foot and yes, they generally work better with stick shift cars but if you know how to tune the combination, they can work well with automatics too. A little bit of converter also helps. My first build included a 750 DP on a mild 383 and it worked well, however, my best street carb on a nearly totally stock 340 was a TQ.

OK,

So Holley 750DP it is.

It has some sort of headers and the cams sounds like upgraded. However, Intake Manifold looks stock. This is the fun thing, when you buy stuff and ship it. It can contain just about anything under the hood :)

It sounds as it's a bit hard to justify a swap or even a verdict without knowing more about the engine. I guess I have to dig deeper..

If it runs and works fine, I'd leave it. No sense changing it out. The intake on the other hand can be upgraded to RPM. What is the headers primary tube size?
