What center section do I have?

I’m trying to figure what what center section I have. My car is a ‘69 Coronet 500.
I can’t find any numbers on the driver side. I can only find these numbers on the passenger side.
I did pull off the gear ratio tag.. 2.76.

Nothing on the other side. Which is why I am so confused, usually the numbers are stamped in big letters.

Yep, it’s the 1959-64 variation of the 741 case.

I thought it was 67 at first but I think it actually says 57...yet another surprise.

The first two digits in the part number "16" indicate that the casting was first used in 1='50 and 6=6 (LOL)... 1956! Doesn't mean the axle is from '56, just the casting design was introduced then.

Get the 742. Suregrip if you can. It will be the rebuildable type, not the cone type of the 489.

Before 1965, there was only one size case, the 983/657/741, all have the 1 3/8” pinion.
