What color is this suppose to be?

This is part of the clutch and brake assembly. It looks like it may have just been zinc coated from the factory. What I have is to rusted to tell but does show signs of bare metal or zinc. I know pedals will be powder coated black.

I painted mine cast coat makes it look like bare metal. mine were bare from the factory

The whole assy was "Natural" (bare), and the pedals were dipped in black about 2/3 of the way up.
