What did you pay for your exhaust system in your street car?

I got mine from Accurate in Oregon. MOPAR Action featured them. The receipt is out in the shop but it was around a grand for everything. Absolutely highest quality. Fantastic, caring service.
Shipping was more then you lucky southerners pay for the entire exhaust. I’d do it again.

A lot of people flinch at the cost of the TTI systems, but I feel they are worth it. Plus the fact they are mandrel bent. Accurate systems are not mandrel bent, which I guess some people want when doing a restoration. I've bought 2 TTI setups and am very happy with both of them. TTI's customer service is the best in my book.

I bought the Pypes X kit, a couple straight sections and a few U bends and welded my own up all out of stainless. It's all mandrel bent stuff and when you do it yourself it fits how you want it to.

I always buy the SS builder kits (Magnaflow); seems they were around $300 w/o mufflers.

I too bought a complete set-up from Accurate Exhaust, LTD in Oregon - outstanding quality AND great service. They have sales from time to time so that's how I bought mine. Very knowledgeable staff. I paid $989 (with shipping) in total in December 2014. It was a "factory" complete dual exhaust setup for a '69 big block car. About a year later I got around to having it installed and it turned out one bracket was incorrect (for hanging the pipes rear of the muffler).

I called them and they sent the correct one out the next day - no question asked. I wish every vendor was that good.

Definitely would buy from them again.

When doing your exhaust systems make sure to use SS band clamps, to the cheap U-clamps. Allows you to dismantle and remove your system down the road with ease. I've been using these clamps for at least 15 years and could never go back to the other style....just ruins your pipes and connections.

I built mine from sections of straight tubing, select mandrel bends, and custom header flanges and disconnect flanges i made. With a pair of flowmaster 50 series big block mufflers (huge!), i figured i had about $600 in it, not counting my fab and welding. This was maybe fifteen years ago. The mufflers are now twice what i paid , ($200 each now?!) im sure the tubing and bends are too. But, with some extra flanges i made, and some leftovers tubing, i bought two hooker aeros (cheapest real muffler with 3.5 in and out) for $50 each, so i had a full 3.5 system to the axle for my cortina for $100.
If i were doing it again today..... i'd buy a 3" stainless system from jegs or summit, with their house flowmaster copy's, maybe have less then $350 in it, and make my own h-pipe.
Just a side note, my 3 1/2 system to the back bumper with bigblock flowmasters is almost a hundred pounds. Street car with exhaust and steelies, to bracket car with light wheels, slicks and exhaust removed, well over 150 lbs lighter.

All TTI,$800 thirteen years ago,looks as good as when installed!

You can probably also get aluminized pipe there.

Pipes from Accurate are mandrel bent I have their tailpipes on my Charger.
The factory pipes were mandrel bent as well.
Mine are aluminized been on there for 20 years, still look good.

I used the Pypes stainless 2.5 x pipe w/o muffler kit and am happy with it. $300 a few years back. Mufflers are dynomax ultraflos 17219 which i got for 60/each at the same time.

Thing with aluminized pipes is they generally have a what I call a corrosion strip in them, might be from the manufacturing process but it starts to rust quick and easy and will then take out your exhaust pipes in short order. I had custom 2.5" pipes bent up for my 68 T/C wagon over 10 years ago, and now with a ton of miles on it and they still look great. But what I do is every couple years I get under the car on a hot summer day with a bucket, hose and a pile of SOS pads and scrub the exhaust system, keeps it looking shiny and new.

I have a (USED!) 2 1/2" SS Pypes system with mufflers I won't need again. Headers back- will need some hangers & clamps if not welding.

I guess mandrel bent means two different things to you and I. Whenever a pipe looks kinky from the tube bender it is not mandrel bent. Every picture of every pipe I looked at on Accurate's website is not mandrel bent. If you want to see the difference, go to TTI's website and compare the pipes and all of the bends in the pipes. You will see what mandrel bent means. I don't think they even knew what mandrel bent was back when our cars were new.
