What do you want to see in a movie?

A decent story line.

I'm glad you don't want car destruction. I don't like when special effects or sensational stunts take center stage in the movie. What are those movies?? Fast and Furious ,Fast 5 or something. I decided to watch it on tv. Turned the channel after 5 minutes. Those 2 Chargers dragging the 15 ton safe down the highway......:bs_flag:

I would like to see a good old western movie but in this day and age it will never happen again. I can remember sitting with my grandfather in his tv room watching the good old westerns. It has to have a good story line to it. I don't want to see just a guns blazing bank robbing western.

I'd like to see more of THESE but not getting wrecked.

I'm not sure about the bike in the background but that's a real Schwing in the foreground. Schwing, Schwing!

A plot with intrigue, not warmed over lame stories.
Great acting...talented people.
Beautiful cinematography (like the overseas settings in Sean Connery 007 movies.
Beautiful actresses, especially if they are unknown in the USA.
No ridiculous stunts.

Also, for horror movies, there should be no stupid interjections of humor. It needs to be terrifying and subtly disturbing; and NOT something that children should see. Blood and and gore is NOT a substitute for a great plot and great acting. Where are the creative geniuses like Alfred Hitchcock?

Excellent post and GREAT ideas!

Gore is a cheap *** tactic, so is the overdone background music that builds up to the "gotcha" moment. Subtle music is great and enhances the viewing experience but too often, it seems that the movie is trying to tell me how to react with loud music.

I may have mentioned it previously but....STOP with the RAP music in action movies. The Fast and Furious producers shove it into too many scenes.

STOP with the totally unrealistic fight scenes. A man gets punched, flies backwards and takes out a concrete column then gets up to fight more? Really?

I have been waiting on a movie based on the Battle off Samar and the book about that battle, "Last Stand of the Tin Can Sailors." A handfull CVE's, DE's, and DD's against the main thrust of the IJN center force. Those sailors had some big brass balls to trade shots with BBs while pressing the threat in order to help the CVEs make an excape, the USN air groups doing dry runs in the teeth of aa fire because they had no ammo. Halsey was a fool for taking the IJN north force bait of empty carriers, steaming north leaving the strait wide open and the Leyte landings in jeopardy. "where rpt where is task force 34 the world wonders"

That was F&F 6....hokey jokey. The only F&F with a realistic plot & action is #5, Tokyo Drift, where the focus was on the DRIVING, real get down driving sideways. The cast were taken to Irwindale for a couple days to get hands on experience of the limits of adhesion, learn how to recover from loss of control situations. Funny thing is that the lead female came away from Irwindale ranking highest.
Storyline was realistic......Hahn dealing in hot parts with the Yakuza. The driving is phenom!

What???? Every time I have been knocked backwards and taken out a concrete column, I always come back fighting, and I usually win! I thought it was the same for everyone. ;-)

I skipped to the last thread, I`d like to see them make movies w/o all the dang cursing, especially the Lords name in vain. It does " not " add one bit to the movie. I can take some cursing and I like wemon, but will switch any movie that starts dong that.
