Its in a 1979 Cordoba for sale. 318?
Is that for sure its a 318. I’m considering buying it.318 with the infamous lean burn setup.
I don’t know yet, Im waiting on a response from the seller. That’s why I posted the picture to see if anyone could identify it by looking. I would prefer the 360 but the 318 would be okay. Both motors in 1979 stock configuration are turds, but the 360 can has more potential than the 318. For this car I’m looking at its all original unmolested with 68k miles, so i wouldn’t touch it. I would leave it stock. What's the fifth digit of the VIN
I bet it's a k code e57 360 2bbl. Great engine pkg. From what can be seen in the picture, and assuming original pieces, it has the larger air cleaner, so it's either a 318 four barrel carburetor or a 360 with either two or four barrel. The presence of the aspirator tube points to either a E57 360 (two barrel) or E58 360 (four barrel).
So, without further detail to tell better, it appears the engine is a 360, with Electronic Spark Advance (ESA).
I will err on the side of caution and say it's a small block, lol!
And I will gladly pay you Thursday for a Hamburger toady!
