what exactly is a scat pack in 1970

Hello Everyone I have a friend who says his 1970 challenger has a scat pack on it. What exactly does this consist of and how does it come about? My guess is it was a package you could order aftermarket from dealer and add on. Have a nice day! Lee

I dont believe (could be wrong) that the Scat Pack in 70 had anything to do with options on the cars, it was a type of "club" you could join or be a part of. It was not like it is now, where the scat pack indicated some type of options on the vehicle.

Scat Pack Bee stickers were put in the rear quarter windows of Dodge cars that could turn a 14 second quarter mile the way they came from the factory.

That was a fairly good time for a factory stock car back then.

He may be getting confused with the transmission and driveline packages.
Track Pack = 4 speed 3.54 Dana
Super Track Pack = 4 speed and 4.10 Dana + power disc brakes
(with some other minor differences)
