Hey guys I'm starting the restoration on my 69 roadrunner, I'm going body color underneath, so really want to pick a nice color. I'm going with black vinyl roof and interior. Anyone have any suggestions/pics? I am considering code 97. I do not have the fender tag and unsure of the original color code.

Hi, Take a look at A4 Platinum Silver. did a 69 in that color a few years ago and it looked awesome.

My personal fav was always Vitamin C, but i now have a B5 Blue (blue fire metallic) car and it has really grown on me.

Yeah I like vitamin c as well, but there are a few that color in my direct area, I'm trying to find something a little different, b5 is awesome as well but also common here. Thanks

Mine is R4 and it looks really good in that color. Probably why it's so common too. I saw what appears to be a Bahama yellow (butterscotch?) car and it also looks good.

Come on, the floor pan or something should tell you the original color. FFLosAngeles2013 028.jpg Y2 Yellow is a quintessential timeless muscle color. Especially with the black accents. Easy to keep clean too.

What was the original color of the car? This is what I am painting my next one - if I ever do another restoration.

All excellent suggestions

And do yourself a favor and check out MoparBill's A4 car at his resto thread. It's beautiful.

Another very nice color that's also not common at all but is stunning is the turquoise

Yeah I have to agree a4 does look good. I know the original color was a red, but don't know the code. I like the impact colors as well but there are not many for 69 , they are mostly in 70. Thanks everyone

This is T5 not tweaked with anything. Used PPG omni line of paint.

I am having the same thoughts currently myself. My car is originally F5 green. I really do like the F5 green since its kind of a sleeper color but the silver really looks good. I feel my VIN tag keeps subliminally telling me to keep it the original F5 though. Its a tough decision!
