what is the differnce between a383hp motor and a383 non hp

would like to know are blocks the same and internals are different thanks
 
all the 383's have 2568130 castings on the blocks, the internals are different I presume. I know they came with a 2 bbl non hp and 4bbl hp.
 
One of the benefits about MoPars is you can't go wrong when picking out an engine to build up. The Chevy folks always look for the 4 bolt main blocks, steel cranks and camel hump heads but the MoPar guys know that ANY 383 or 440 between 1968 and 1970 will have a good block, a steel crank and good heads. The list of good parts spreads over more years but the years I mentioned are 100%, assuming no tampering since new.

I'm running a 78 440 block in my Belvedere and would recommend that to anyone who is looking to build a good street engine.
