One of the benefits about MoPars is you can't go wrong when picking out an engine to build up. The Chevy folks always look for the 4 bolt main blocks, steel cranks and camel hump heads but the MoPar guys know that ANY 383 or 440 between 1968 and 1970 will have a good block, a steel crank and good heads. The list of good parts spreads over more years but the years I mentioned are 100%, assuming no tampering since new.
I'm running a 78 440 block in my Belvedere and would recommend that to anyone who is looking to build a good street engine.
