Down sizing means keeping the ones you REALLY want. Smaller property and single shop on the horizon make for tough choices indeed. Watching them go to other homes is a good thing. It starts with one!

I feel blessed to live on an acreage. so the shed was built first, then the house. I lived in the suburbs for 30+ years, too many kids, soccer Vans, firetrucks,sirens. now any neighbors are on 10-20 acre parcels.Not Including Deer, turkey, raccoons, fox.

Me? I had 11 at one time including the Wife's 2 cars.
I haven't been a "One car" guy since 1986.

I'm in the city limits but on 1/2 acre. The shop is 1456 sq ft with a 25x25' carport on the back and that helped with the 12 cars I had years ago. Got more flack from a couple of neighbors for building such a large 'garage' but didn't say much about the cars. They flared up again when they saw me bringing in an engine lathe and a milling machine. They were 25+ years older than me with one feeling I was too young to be able to afford to live in this neighborhood and figured I was a drug dealer. Another felt I was running a business. They're gone now.....hope they are in peace finally.

Had an acre but got tired of taking care of it but we did play on it quite often when the kids were still young enough to want to play. At one point we had a 900 foot kidney shaped go cart track with a portion going out into the easement behind the property. The neighbors really loved that too....not lol.

18 is the highest for me. Currently at 14. All Dodge and Plymouth. No Chrysler’s at this time.

The mowing keeps me moving, plus trimming trees. 7 acres with a creek. But the Building is 8400 square feet. plenty of room to develop an affliction! There are 12 running ,licensed, and Insured old cars, not Including the newer drivers.There are four more in the works to get moving. But I am listening to Barnfind, and want to get rid of a number of the projects and spare parts cars.

2 1979 Chrysler 300's one running, one being rebuilt
1977 Chrysler New Yorker currently in storage, I bought this car at a steal for $500 and its almost perfect, runs great and almost no appearance issues
1979 Dodge W400 Power Wagon, this is an old brush fire truck converted to a flatbed
In a garage I rent I can fit 2 cars so the running 300 and the New Yorker get rotated in out every couple months with the project 300 as the my storage space doesn't have ease of access. I keep the truck in my extra driveway next to my detached garage

The wife has a 2016 Hyundai Tuscon for a daily driver and her toy, a 1977 Corvette that get my detached 2 car garage.

At some point after the wife retires I'd like to relocate somewhere close by to stay near family that has enough land to build a garage big enough to get everything under one roof, the wife works for the local school district that has a residency requirement as a condition of employment

Thanks! I couldn't pass it up for the price, a guy at work had a friend, it was his grandfathers car and he had it in his garage for 12 years, his parents decided to down size from their house and his garage was elected for storage of the extra crap so the car was deemed expendable. I wasn't looking to buy but looked at it and even tried to talk the guy into keeping it and get titled as an antique because he was concerned the township would tag him for leaving it outside unregistered. He was set on hit having to go so I offered him the $500 I had set aside in my car fund and almost fell over when he said yes. I think its has one repaint, the interior is almost perfect except for a little carpet fade and the rear seat needs a couple seams restitched. I put another $1000 in for new tires, brakes and miscellaneous stuff like adding cornering lights and new speakers. The old ones were dry rotted

The big problem now is I like it so much I might have to find a 2 door version to go with it. It runs great and the ride is fantastic , when I got it I sprayed some oil in each cylinder as a precaution since it had been sitting. It took me maybe an hour to get it running, but 4 hours to wash and wax it and wipe down the interior, not that it was that dirty just a freaking massive size car. I cant bring it to my home garage as its a foot and a half longer than my 1920's garage

Wow! What a cool car! As Greg said too, the ultimate cruising/ car trip car - it doesn't get any better than that!

That is very different and neat - I'll bet it attracts quite a crowd at a car show!
