I decided the GTX has enough miles on it now to shake her down a bit, so it was off to the 4-lane today with my wife, my wingman:

I backed out towards the top of 3rd gear somewhere north of 80mph.
The direction we were headed is a known speed trap area just a couple miles from county police HQ, after all. :)

Not bad for an old bundle of mismatched parts, eh?
The car did great, too. :)

I see you got the hang of that Force clutch!
LOL I guess. Dang thing still needs to come up off the floor some for my taste.
Pedal is so close to the floor that I sometimes trip on it getting in the car. :)
I reckon now that it has a few miles on it, I can risk an adjustment.
I have to build up some confidence in it before I can actually dump it, though.

Sweet GTX! Man the car sounds great and responds well....I was saying, "Why did you let off?" lol....

Your wife's comment reminded me of my wife...."How long do you want me to video this" too funny.....

Very glad to see you enjoying it in all of its glory! Especially after everything you endured to get it to that point!!!
Drive on!!!

Glad you are finally enjoying that beautiful GTX, and it sounds awesome!
Thanks Dave. :)
Yeah, we made it. I'm good with whatever happens to me now because she is doing OK. :)

Thanks! Yeah, I've played the video over several times, listening closely, and I can't hear any hiccups at all. Given the history of this car, that's a new thing. :)

My answer at the end when she asks that is now a running joke between us. We did a similar video a while back when the car had a different engine in it and the same thing happened.
At one point in that one I said "OK" but it was so loud she didn't hear me, so when she asks me in that video when to stop the video I yell out "I SAID OK!"

When I did that again in this video, she shuts off the video and says "you can be a real *** sometimes".

Yeah, that's one of the wonderful various after-effects of croaking so many times - I don't have sleep patterns anymore. More of a system shutdown as needed thing, which happens at all different times of the day.

Thanky kindly sir. :)
I've been playing the video back several times and listening closely for anything that sounds wrong. Now hopefully with other more knowledgeable ears listening, if there is anything to be concerned about, someone will spot it.

I usually back off when the third mph digit appears on the Garmin or when Linda carries on too much. She won't hold the phone, both hands are straight out gripping the dash - like that would help.

GAWD that sounds familiar......
car sounds great!!

Now that I listen again, there could a noise coming from rt.rear torsion bar anchor; oops might have been from a certain person instead!
