I have a 1974 model 440. I want to make some major upgrades. I am considering an 8/71 supercharger and not sure which internals and heads to go with. This is going to be a street/strip car with frequint cruis-ins and car shows. I want to be able to drive it and not have to make adjustments every time before I leave the house. What should I go with and why?

493 -512+ stroker kit, aluminum heads, manifold, some say full roller. When I get mine running i'll let you know. :)

Your main focus should be to have it hold together under boost conditions. Most "show" blowers can get away with just about anything but if you plan to use the blower as it were intended then a stout short block will be required. Personally I don't think heads are that much of a concern since you are going to force feed it.

My main concerns would be:

1) To not run over my crank and -
2) Do everything I can to control detonation.
