2025 is going to be interesting for me.
I am on the finish line for my mortgage. So I will likely not have much to spend on any projects, elimination of debt is the main goal here. So I have been looking at how I can move things forward elsewhere....
My Dakota, as much as I love it, has been succumbing to WI salt. I am on the fence if I should drive it or sell it. So far driving it. I am on the fence, as I do not think it is feasible to repair/rust proof what is left. It has a lot of good points, but some of the bad is infected pretty far into some key areas. It has about 60k miles on it, 5.2/5 speed.
I am on the fence because that drivetrain has potential for a lot of other stuff. Recently I have been contemplating "what if Chrysler made a 90's 2 door with a magnum and a 5 speed". So I have been watching for Chrysler Conquest shells to potentially hack into fitting this combo in(minus the transfer case) but not sure if I want to tackle that, it would be a ton of work. Other directions include 5 speed swapping a 5.9 durango from the south, and adding forced induction. Meanwhile I drive the thing daily and do weekly burnouts as therapy. Righteous burnouts make your life perspective better while you are working for a living. Rust has no affect on power or burnouts.
My Ramcharger will get driven to work all summer. Needs a bath and I need to figure tires for the 15x10 chrome wheels I have sitting around for it. Used to be there were some wide profile 31's out there, but the availability of 15" tires seems to have declined.....
The Police Monaco needs a windshield. I have been waiting for this all last year, and it will probably wait another year for financial things unless I ditch the Dakota. As I said above, there is a primary goal for the year.
I am constantly watching for the next thing too, but I have come to the conclusion I need to move the needle on one of the existing things or offload one of them for space. I can only drive so many things in one day anyway.
So not as grandios as some others here, but I am in my 40's and work, a lot, yet. Still, I will have more time then money for sure this year, and that can be a blessing in itself.
