I bought a replacement Walbro fuel pump for the charger.
They ship it with some kind of storage solution.

WOW that stuff has a strong odor kinda like methylene chloride.

Anyone know what it actually is?

Should I flush it out before installing it?

Here's a possible answer to this mystery:

The link below is to an article on how to spot fake Walbro 190 & 255 fuel pumps. In it they state that genuine Walbro pumps come in an unsealed bag with the pump covered in mineral spirits to help stop corrosion from forming, and that Walbro also uses mineral spirits to flow test their new pumps to make sure they're working to full spec . . .
