IF you could afford it what would this be worth to you. I have found the car that my father bought new in late 69' and I was brought home from the hospital after I was born in. OK here is the car; 70' Cuda 440-6. The car is all original. I found the car at our local cruise in. I talked with the owner and he is of course not going to sell it ever BUT everything is for sale. I even have the original window sticker for this car. I ask you what would you pay for something like this, a piece of family history. Oh, by the way my parents met in a 67 GTX, quite possible conceived me in a 69 GTX and like stated before brought home in a 70 Cuda. MoPar is in my blood. This of course this is a what if story because I can not afford this car but man do I want it. Maybe this weekend I can get a pic of it at the local cruise in. The owner doesn't drive it much.

What condition is it in?

(BTW- WTH are the odds of finding it local???)

I would pay roughly condition value plus 50% for a 66 Coronet in the same colors with the same options as the one I had in high school. I would also pay condition value plus (undetermined) for my 70 Super Bee if I could find it.

Condition is 9 out of 10. I say that because nothing is perfect. Like I said this is an all original numbers matching car. It has the original drivetrain. I hope I can get a picture of it so you can see this beauty.

If he knows this car is part of your family history you can pretty much forget about getting it for a fair market price. It all depends on the owner, but some people tend to see opportunity in situations like this so who knows. All I can say is don't loose contact with this car!

That is kinda my point. I know that I would be willing to pay more for this car because of the history but would you guys pay more for a car that is special to you and how much more. I have always said that it is only worth what you are willing to pay. It is all relative anyway because I could never pay what it is worth. I guess I just wanted to express how crazy it is that I have found this car.

I'd make him an offer he couldn't refuse. Seriously, make a friend and tell your story but not too pushy like .. wait for the right moment or let it kind of dirbble out at the right moment. Find out what else he likes then go find it, buy it, and make a trade plus cash.

I bought a 70 Sat convert that way once that just wasn't for sale.

It's hard to put a price on sentimental value. Some people get blinded by it and some get greedy. If he did sell and gave you a price of $60000,would it be worth to you to pay that price. As long as he is local, you will see it every once in a while. Keep in contact with him without turning into a stalker. You never know, patience may pay off in the long run.

IDK about "as long as it's local you will see it".

I sold my Bee to a lady two towns over, which I go through about 6 times or more a year.

I've never seen it again since 1995.

well here's one for ya..how much would HE pay for the window sticker YOU have for it.ha,ha..just a thought..God Bless..Bear R.-

if your trying to get a deal going with him I wouldn't let him no you have any ties to it yet ,or he`ll try and set that hook

Wedge5,

Everything has its moment, and for you to have come full circle and found the car that was your fist chariot, well I have to say bravo sir. That alone, is impressive, but buying a car like that one is going to be a serious game of poker. It sounds like you laid some tracks already with this fellow, and he may believe you, but in all fairness, you should pay market. You've waited this long, but keeping in contact with him over the next few months may bare fruit.

For starters a 9 of 10 1970 440+6 cuda is worth a shitton on its own. And paying 50% over market to change his mind about selling and you are getting into 6 figures and then some. If you can afford it and it means that much to you I say go for it. Too bad you weren't born in something a little less expensive. :)

If nothing else, keep in contact with the person, you can have visitation rights "maybe"...LOL... I would love to have my old 1st 68 Charger R/T "back in my garage", but I sold it for a reason at the time, I can't remember that reason now... make friends tell the person your story, ask him if he ever does want to sell it, for a reasonable or fair market price, to give you 1st opportunity/dibs to buy her back... That's what I would do anyway, be-it right or wrong, it never hurts to have another Mopar buddy either way... Unless he's a JERK

Good suggestion Budnicks. As long as he's not a jerk make friends and stay on his good side. He might be a pretty nice guy after all. Also, remember personal situations change .. be ready for the call and know what you can afford and are willing to pay and if possible have a plan for the financial piece. i.e. how your are going to get the funds / where from / how long that's going to take so your are ready to execute when/if the call comes. If a fire or quick sale happens a lot of time they need the $$ quick.

I am going to a local cruise in tonight so hopefully it is there. Thanks for the suggestions/tips.

I still have the fender tag and TITLE for my 70 Bee. they never even called back to see if I found it...

Man this is hard to read. Brought home in it? I would struggle with this info. Good luck whatever happens.

Tell him to find a comparable one he likes better than his and you will buy that car for him to replace this one.
OK, just an idea.
I didn't say it was a good one.
