what would you do?

I'd like to see the fender tag that's coded for a black car with black stripe.

I've seen 'muscle cars' built that way but not a 'regular' car.

That would be unusual, and IMO grounds to put it back that way it was built.

I suspect it may be the body side molding that could be black, white, or IIRC, tan.

That said, tripple black is always cool.... unless you're in the South and without A/C.

Welcome to the forum!

a 73 Satty is not an heirloom investment car. Doing a pristine factory original restoration will never make it worth a lot, even if it is a rare(er) combo. If is was something super unique and odd, with iron clad documentation to prove it, that might be different.

So having said that, I certainly like the original color combo of your car. The only trouble with black is that your bodywork will need to be near perfect. Nothing shows flaws better than black.

So my suggestion would be to paint it black if you or your body guy can spend the time (and you the money) to make the car super straight. If you can't, then a lighter color may be better than can hide some of the imperfections.

But like others have said, so it your way and make yourself happy!

.....it came back black exterior black interior back side stripes black vinyl top and factory tinted glass. That sure is a black car lol b UT the ....

Cool car! My vote is all black. I picked up a charger a year or so ago with the same factory black all over including stripe. Only it doesn't have the tinted windows. :(
That's a cool touch.

I say paint it black. Tooooo many mopars get painted plum crazy or sublime.

I have always wanted to do a triple black 73 Roadrunner, with matte black stripes, white engine id on the hood, a crazy built motor, and chrome wheels. That would be awesome! Welcome and good luck with the build!

keep the body just like it is and buld the heck out of the engine and suspension and put a nice interior in it. One bad A$s sleeper

One thing I'd consider doing different is ditching the vinyl top.

The rear window trim already holds water, and the top will make that sooo much worse.
