i'm Looking for my next project and stumbled onto this 1966 Coronet 440. Factory 383/4speed. has a 383 and 4 speed in it, not sure on #s. the motor has some goodies on it but the guy doesn't know what's done to it, so ill assume it's all stock. doesn't run but he said it did start a year or so ago. missing some interior, all the glass is good. the best part of this car is there's almost no rust. floors, frame, trunk, roof, fenders, are solid, d.s. 1/4 has a dime size hole in it and that's it. It's a dark green car, no stripe, and white interior. it's a pretty delete car besides that, the only other thing on the fender tag is am radio. i guess i'm just wondering what everyone would pay for it. opinions and thoughts welcome!

2-5k depending how clean the underside is, and how much you love it.. Don't forget that **** like that grille is going to cost some decent money.. even if the motor is good you will dump 10k just to get it driving without paint or anything like that.

P.S. you will learn that every motor "Ran when parked" or "we started it last year" never trust a human being....

I once looked at a car that ran bout 6 months ago.. the carb was literally dust and scale rust everywhere.. thing hadn't run in 20 years

BTW.. rust free means a lot though.. that was my first car.. just figure out how nice you want it to be in the end... do the math and then double the number you come up with

Yes, lack of rust is great. But trim and parts for 66/67 are still pretty expensive and hard to find. I might go a little higher than Jerry, but not much.

Have to see just what it is missing, besides the grill. Needs a full interior re-do.

i agree on the motor stuff, but i've known this guy for years and he deals with cars for a living. he's got about 200 mopars out at his place, this being one of them. if the motors not locked up i'd believe it did run not so long ago. also i forgot to mention that the trunk is full of parts, including the grille, a lot of trim, and some other things. he says he wants 8k for it and there's no chance i'd pay that. maybe 5-6k depending on what other parts he would throw in because he did mention doing that. i just wanted to see if i was crazy thinking paying that 5-6k might be worth it or not

forgot to mention the trunk is full of trim pieces, including the grille. my plans with it would be to redo the interior and get it driving good. i wouldn't even touch the body would i be crazy for paying 5-6k for it?

Whatever 250-300 is worth today from 1975.....but I actually bought running cars in the mid 70's for 200 bucks.

Go there, pop a wad of $5k cash at him. Deal or no deal.
Yes the 4-speed 383 is desireable but it's a low end Coronet model.
That car needs alot of work.
I think 4,000 would be my top number.

My 2 Cents …..

How many of these 60+ year old cars even exist ?
How Many Of These Classic Beauty’s Are OnDa…. Shelf At Wally World ??

So IF you have a reasonable foundation &
It appears you do , then The asking price is not out of line !
With some ingenuity & hard work youll
Have a nice cruiser to have fun with !!!

Go gett Ettt!!!

If the engine turns freely or better yet can be started and run, I would say not crazy at all. The trim, if in decent shape and useable or at least restorable helps a lot for me. My 67 and 66 Plymouths have tons of dollars in restored trim and some replacement trim.
