What's a bondo queen worth?

Ebay is not the wholly grail when it comes to selling a car. It is a good way to let some of the public know what car is for sale. I use ebay as a way of cost effective advertising .

Actually, my preference is F3, F4, or F5 both inside and out, AND a 727 auto.

Like any auction there is more often overpaying than underpaying. It is just the rule of thumb with auctions. Having said that, I am seeing more often 30K (reserve) cars stalling unsold at mid 20s. Some 30K (reserve) cars have been relisted for several years over and over and over again on eBay.

There are also cars on craigslist that have been listed for almost two years at mid 30s. I often wonder if you showed up with a shoebox of 250 $100 bills would you get the car, or a punch in the face?

As for this car being worth 8K I have to disagree. I've seen the 'projects' listed on this site's For Sale forum for 8K, and this car is definitely not in that price range (although I wish it was). Going back to eBay, I see quite a few B Body projects with both quarters rotted 10 inches up and floorboards like swiss cheese go for 8K. A couple of weeks ago a Coronet with cancer around the backlite and rotted trunk went for 13K, so I'm starting to think this Road Runner, if a real Road Runner, maybe worth 12-15K. As a car for me, I'll probably move on.

Thanks for all of the feedback!

So, this car came up from the orignal owner in NC sometime in the summer on Craigslist at $10k. I am in NC and tried to contact the guy a few times as I figured I could pick it up for less, but never got a call back. From what I remember it was an older gentleman that worked on it, stored it in a barn for years, and then pulled it out to get it running but couldn't finish it, based on what was listed in the add. About three weeks went by and the add was pulled off by the orignal lister and then about 3 days later it popped up on Atlanta's Craigslist for $13k. Pictures of it still on the trailer. About three days later it was pulled, then popped up on Florida's Craigslist listed for $22k. This guy in FL listed it a bunch of places everywhere from $18-22k. Obviously nobody took a bite, so he listed it on eBay. Silly flipper. Guess this one didn't work out too well for him.

Good point! I'm thinking about a Barrett Jackson Tuesday to Wednesday vacation in January. I've been told there are quite a few 20K cars that might be worth the time and expense to register as a bidder.
Yes, I have tried to ween myself off the out of state searches, but every once in awhile I see something that sparks my interest.
Thanks for the feedback and advice!

Don't shoot the messenger, but 20K doesn't buy much in the way of a decent B-body these days. Don't take this wrong, but you have B-body tastes with an A-body budget.

Just receievd notice from eBay that this car is no longer available. Maybe sold?

My $.02, Most cars on ebay are over-priced. Depends on what are your plans for it? If you are looking for that exact car for sentimental reasons and are not concerned about it being an investment then negotiate with the guy after the auction is over. I don't think it will get up to the reserve price. I'd say the $15,000 would probably be a conservative restoration price but you could cut some corners and be close to that. Then that would put you over $30,000 and I don't think you'd get that back out of the car. I'd say find you one already running and driving for $30,000.
AMEN so many over priced cars and that is why you see the same cars over and over re listed every few months for yrs some times
IMO these days you have to look at a lot of cars to find one in a fair price range and also be careful unless you dont care about $ this market is coming down and I believe it will keep going that way. Ill prob get hollered at for that one
